OLD
SAYBROOK, CONNECTICUT
by Nancy Deegan
While not the oldest town in Connecticut,
Old Saybrook is the oldest town on the Connecticut
shoreline, and very proud of its maritime history.
Referred to as the place “where the Connecticut
River meets Long Island Sound,” the sea
breezes, fishing fleets, coves, marshes and
magnificently preserved wetlands, combine to
create an ambience that is only enhanced by
the charming town with its diversified architectural
styles of yesteryear.
