BELMAR,
NEW JERSEY
by John Galluzzo
William Shakespeare might actually find Belmar
a familiar place for the community--and Belmar
is one place where that word is borne with
pride--was nearly named for the Bard's hometown
of Stratford, in England. It was also almost
named Avon, for the river upon which Stratford
sits.
