It may be that we simply focus on the negatives
during times of economic depression, but it
sure seems like Mother Nature tends to descend
on us pretty heavily in times when money is
short. The Great Plains of the Midwest suffered
terrible droughts during the Great Depression
of the 1930s, at a time when the region's farmers
were needed most to feed the country.
