ROCKLAND & CAMDEN,
MAINE
by John Galluzzo
Ever since he left the Coast Guard, Ken Black
has been collecting artifacts relating to America’s
lighthouses. For years, his Shore Village Museum
in Rockland has been known as one of the “gems” of
America’s small town museums. Part of
its dynamism has been due to the fact that
the museum’s immense collection has been
housed in a small building, the former home
of the local chapter of the Grand Army of the
Republic.
